Client Website Feedback privacy
Your Friendly Developer · Version 0.2.0 · Updated September 15, 2026
Client Website Feedback captures a visible webpage only after you invoke its toolbar action or assigned shortcut. It helps you inspect, crop and redact that screenshot, save revision evidence and exchange feedback files. The extension has no developer-operated account, cloud storage, analytics, advertising, AI service or automatic sending.
Information processed on your device
A capture temporarily handles the active tab URL, browser tab/window/document identity, visibility, viewport size, pixel ratio and visible screenshot. Screenshots can contain personal, financial, health, authentication or other information shown on your screen. We do not automatically identify or remove sensitive information. Choose an appropriate page and inspect the screenshot before committing privacy review or exporting it.
The URL is checked temporarily to allow supported HTTP/HTTPS pages. Only its origin (scheme, host and port) is retained as capture metadata; the path, query, fragment and page title are not saved as capture metadata. This does not remove addresses or text visible inside the screenshot or information you type yourself. The page probe does not collect DOM text or form values.
Raw screenshot references are temporary and expire after one minute, or earlier on cancellation or interruption. Committing privacy review creates a fresh PNG containing the chosen crop and opaque redactions, removes PNG metadata and removes the original from the editor's application state. This is not a promise of forensic erasure from browser or operating-system memory.
Local records and files
Your Chrome profile stores processed images, project/issue names, descriptions, page labels, origins, pins, local status, revision history, timestamps, self-described reviewer labels and notes, import/export identifiers, deletion tombstones and the optional capture-delay preference. Imports are validated and create separate projects. Incoming PNGs are re-encoded. Imported identity and provenance remain unverified.
The extension does not encrypt these local records. Anyone with access to your Chrome profile may access them. Removing the extension or clearing browser storage can remove records. Keep exported backups if needed; local browser storage is not a backup service.
You choose when to download JSON, HTML, CSV or processed PNG files. Complete exports may contain all supported revisions, processed screenshots, comments, origins and other project metadata; review the on-screen field disclosure before exporting. CSV summaries are not complete backups. Exported files are ordinary unencrypted files. If you send a file using email, messaging or another service, that destination's privacy practices apply. Saving or exporting a note does not send it to the developer or another person.
Local purge and deletion remove application records as described in the interface; tombstones may remain for revision history. This is not forensic disk erasure and cannot delete previously exported or shared copies.
Permissions and transfers
activeTab provides temporary access to the tab you deliberately invoke. scripting runs a top-frame isolated probe for capture identity and viewport checks. storage saves the capture-delay preference. The extension requests no persistent permission to read every website. Capture does not start from webpage messages.
The extension does not transmit captured content, local projects, notes or browsing information to the developer, sell it, use it for advertising, or transfer it to data brokers or lenders. Its use of information received from Google APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements, for the user-facing capture and feedback features described here.
Visiting our public help/privacy website is separate from extension operation. The website host receives ordinary web requests such as IP address and browser information under the studio website's privacy notice. If you contact support at guides@yourfriendlydeveloper.com, your email provider and ours process the message you choose to send. Do not send private screenshots, customer records, passwords or payment information to support.
