Record clicks, get steps
Start a capture on a supported webpage and Guide Workspace records each action as a step, with a screenshot when capture succeeds.
Guide Workspace · Free on the Chrome Web Store
Do a practice workflow once in Chrome and get a step-by-step guide with screenshots back. No account, no cloud upload, and exports are free.
Current beta — read this first
Guide Workspace is a beta, tested with made-up information. Do not record real customer data. Practice with sample information, check every picture, and cover anything private before sharing an export.
What it does
01
Start a capture on a supported webpage and Guide Workspace records each action as a step, with a screenshot when capture succeeds.
02
Rewrite instructions, then cover anything private with solid rectangles. The covers are baked into exported pictures, not layered on top.
03
Keep guides in folders, search them, and combine several into one HTML handbook for a process that spans pages.
04
Export a self-contained HTML guide, an editable .guide backup, or print to PDF. Full local exports are free, and stay free.
Guide data and pictures are saved in this browser profile. The extension does not upload your guides to a cloud service, and there is no account to create. You decide where exported files go.
Scribe takes the other road: guides live in Scribe's cloud, and the features people switch for — editing and redacting screenshots, exporting to PDF, HTML or Markdown — sit on paid per-seat plans. Pro Personal is $25 per seat per month on annual billing, checked November 4, 2026.

Pro would add power features for people who build guides every week. It will never gate your exports: full local exports stay free either way. Leave an email to be counted and to get one message when Pro is ready.
Keep canned replies, stored only on your device and locked with your password. Includes a free 37-reply pack for Etsy, eBay and Poshmark sellers.
